Asian Dating Events: Please make sure you buy a drink

Monday, March 16th, 2015

We really need your help with a difficult subject.

We’ve noticed a worrying trend over the last 18 months that could potentially lead to us not being able to run so many Asian dating events.  So please take a minute to read this short blog so that you can help us.

When we book venues we have to do so on a “minimum spend” basis.  This is where we are allowed to use the venue exclusively in return that our guests will spend a certain amount on drinks.  This makes it worth them opening up specially for us and closing to the public.

However, while many of our guests do buy drinks, there are an increasing number who are just asking for free tap water.  This is incredibly annoying to the venue and frustrating for us.  The result is that some of our most popular venues have told they don’t want to have our events any longer. Obviously we don’t want that to happen.

It’s just good manners to buy a drink if you are using a bar…even if it’s a soft drink.

We don’t make a profit on the events as we do them as a bonus for our members. Most of the money we make is spent on staff, advertising, entertainment etc.

So here’s the deal.  Tap water is fine, but please buy a drink with it!

If everyone does that then the venues will all be happy and the spends will be fine.  We’ll also be able to get better venues for our parties which is great for you too :)

We don’t like having to ask this as we think it should be common courtesy anyway.

Happy dating!

Chrome Diverting to Mobile

Are you using Google Chrome browser?

If so, you may have noticed that some websites are incorrectly identifying you as a mobile browser. On you may find that the website sends you to the mobile version of our website.

This appears to be an issue with the latest version of Google Chrome.

As a work around, if you get this issue you can go to the main menu at the top of the page. If you open that, there is an entry to switch to main site. If you click this, then this should resolve the issue.

Here’s another question answered

by our Dating Expert

“Hi James, I’m signed up to I’ve sent quite a few of what I thought were nice personalised messages but no-one seems to want to reply!

Also tried the instant chatting but i know some people don’t like to be taken by surprise, for me i much prefer having an instant chat to see how the ‘banter’ is, but need to be ready for a get out clause!
Anyway, my question was about the personal messaging, i really thought it was the best way of making contact, instead of winking etc. Do you have any feedback as to how guys respond to that? B”
Hi B, thanks for your message.
The instant chat is just meant as a bit of fun and isn’t that useful beyond that.  Most people are to busy to spend much time chatting on there so messages are much better.
To get good results then yes, you absolutely need to be sending out messages rather than winking   It helps to send a credit with each one to make sure they can read and reply as non paying members can’t do this.   You need to be as proactive as possible and contact any guys that you like the look of.  Otherwise you’ll just be left with the people who contact you.  YOU need to do the choosing and as such have to send out lots of personalised messages that get them interested. Don’t worry about making the first move as guys love that.  If you don’t then other women will anyway!
I’ve also had a look at your profile and messaging.  Your profile and photos are great BUT I really don’t think you’ve sent out enough messages!   Dating is a numbers game so you need to be contacting 10 people a day – not 10 people in total.   Most of the ones you have sent were read, but it would also help to tell them what you liked about them that made you want to contact them.  A little flattery can often work.
